# Position Information

Job Description
More than 8 million citizens rely on more than $22.3 billion of revenue the Virginia Department of Taxation collects to fund government services that affect their daily lives. Virginia Tax, headquartered in Richmond, is responsible for administering 37 state and local taxes, sales and use taxes, and miscellaneous excise taxes with integrity, efficiency, and consistency.
Virginia Tax is seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee, evaluate, verify, and validate all testing efforts, manual and automation, for products and features. This position will lead the efforts for developing and coding automated test scripts and suites; generating a set of acceptance test requirements designed to determine that all high level system requirements have be met with text automation and execution.
An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience: analyzing business and technical requirements to develop test plans; Windows desktop application test automation experience utilizing Selenium-webdriver/Ruby, MSCodedUi; and solving technical and functional problems in a team environment.
## Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, or related field or
relatable work experience
Strong working knowledge of Object-
oriented design/programming,
Proficiency with coding/developing with one
or more of the following languages: (Ruby, C#, Java, Python etc.)
Proficiency in Database concepts and SQL,
use of agency approved tools to execute
Experience in development and
enhancement of various test automation
The Automation Quality Engineer should
have extensive experience in Acceptance
Test-Driven Environment (ATDD) and will be
used to working in a fast-paced
Design, development and implement
automated tests in ATDD using Cucumber
for Ruby or similar, Gherkin and Integrate
with Jenkins Design and implement functional testing.
Proficiency in test automation tools
(commercial and open source) like Selenium-webdriver/Ruby, MSCodedUI, etc. to implement test automation across all areas supported by ITQM
Expertise in using Watir/WebDriver (data-driven, XPath locator) and WebDriver to test the web application
Experience with database backend automation for programmatic data validation to be incorporated in test automation suites. Proficient in developing end-to-end automation scripts using Watir-ruby for back-end/integration automation, Database Testing with Ruby DBI connectivity and run MySQL query for validation and user-data
Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
Strong organizational skills
## Preferred Qualifications
Quality Engineer experience in Agile Scrum
Knowledge of state taxes and state policies
and procedures
DevOps/CICD experience
Experience in Jmeter or other performance
testing tools
Experience with TFS
