# Position Information

Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide, coordinate and evaluate re-employment services for Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants under the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program.
Serves as RESEA program subject matter expert. Trains VEC and other One-Stop partner staff on standards and requirements. Assists in ensuring rapid reemployment for claimants by shortening the duration of UI claims, and identifies and/or prevents erroneous UI payments. Recommends corrective action to improve program performance. Works with clients to obtain gainful employment; provides career counseling and coaching; conducts job matching and makes referrals; and assesses continued eligibility and reemployment needs. Responsible for keying data into VABs and VWC databases. Conducts and coordinates individual and group RESEA sessions providing information on services, job readiness assessments, job service registration, UI eligibility, and other available resources. Provides training and coordinates reemployment services which cover resume development, computer basics, and using electronic tools for job searches. Identifies UI eligibility issues and reports problems for investigation and/or fraud to reduce fraud, abuse and overpayments. Consults with potential employers to discuss employment opportunities and refer clients. Travel between offices within the workforce area to meet with clients and staff is required. This position will be located in the South Boston local office.
POSITION EXPIRES: September 30, 2018. Continuation of this restricted position beyond this date is contingent on future funding.
## Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of interviewing techniques, career counseling and job placement guidelines tools and processes. Knowledge of office operations and etiquette. Strong customer service and computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office or similar software). Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to assess skill sets and reemployment needs and develop and implement reemployment plans. Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews and research; collect and analyze data; and prepare correspondence, reports and training data. Ability to interpret and apply agency standards, policies and procedures. Ability to track and monitor program performance. Ability to develop strong relationships with external partners and contribute to a team environment. Graduation from a college or university with a degree or coursework in public or business administration, human resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
## Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Knowledge of UI eligibility requirements. Credentials in workforce development (CWDP, WPDP).
## Special Requirements
The successful candidate must pass a background investigation. Travel is involved to visit clients and staff. Must have a valid driver's license and availability of a vehicle.
