Job Description
**Hours for the position 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.**
**This position is an hourly/wage position. Wage employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week on average over the course of a year and are limited to 1,500 hours within a 12 month period. No State benefits are provided.**
Incumbent will serve as the Department of Juvenile Justice's agency receptionist by providing operational support to the Department. Duties include providing a high level of customer service at a high volume switchboard; managing the front desk operations, greeting visitors and answering questions. In addition, the position will provide assistance to all divisions contained in central office, to include, but not limited to, compiling reports, data entry, purging files, and administrative support requested.
## Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of office practices and procedures to include proper use of Business English; of state policies and procedures. Considerable experience providing effective customer service to both internal and external customers. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects; organize and prioritize a high volume of work. Working knowledge in the maintenance of log books, tracking strategies and other records management. Skilled in the use of personal computers and computer applications to include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and e-mail; and in the use of multi-line telephones. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and to work well with all levels of staff, government officials, and general public. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations; establish and maintain office filing systems
Graduation from high school or equivalent, with Business training and extensive related administrative experience.
## Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of services provided by DJJ is preferred.
Prefer experience working in a high-paced environment with the ability to multi-task.
